Trying to open my door to you
Don’t know how it closed again
Oh yes I mean it this time too
and yes there is a way
I was standing by the scary door
Feeling alone again
Hoping that I’m leaning to
A new morning
The morning light is seeping through the window of a darkened room
The night is convincing too, it leaves no place to hide
But the light changes the scenery and the shadows retreat again
The darkest night is followed by new morning
Pink-bellied clouds stacked in the east
Like cows waiting by the gate
The color will be gone soon
When the real sun comes out
Can I fly right over my thoughts?
Moving through the pastel clouds
Leave the heavy ground below
In the new morning
Like a child who closes his eyes to make everything disappear
When my mind watches re-runs inside and alone
Standing by the scary door pulled my hat down low
And taking a first step into a new morning
Trying to open my door to you
Don’t know how it closed again
Oh yes I mean it this time too
and yes there is a way
I was standing by the scary door
Feeling alone again
Hoping that I’m leaning to
A new morning
