Lyrics by Matt Bliton
As time flies and through our lives we go
We float and wander, moving to and fro
We try to stop time’s persistent flow
And keep the stones from rolling so the moss can grow
But life moves on regardless of our plans
No solid ground
No perfect place to stand
So many rules to help us run our lives
Some many fears to dominate our minds and so we
Drive alone in cities, dream like Walter Mitty
Build walls and motes
And buy new cars and boats and
Find a job worth finding
Put life in rewind and
And win stuff on a game show
While our lives ebbs and flows
and on we go, live moves on
As we work to try to get ahead
We may end up feeling lost instead
So many advertisements tell us what to be
Finally arrive and be permanently happy
And life moves on even this shall pass
Good or bad – it will not last
We can run and still we fall behind
Can’t get out of bed many hills to climb and so we
If the sky is blue or if it rains down on us
We look high and low for what might sustain us
Is there a way to bend and sway
Is there a place above the fray
and what remains as life moves on
Life moves on, and on we go
Life moves on
